Meet the Team

Yaimara Duarte Wheaton brings a proven record of improving outcomes for students from diverse backgrounds. Born and raised in Las Tunas, Cuba, she experienced firsthand the challenges of limited educational access, an experience that deepened her lifelong commitment to creating excellent and inclusive schools. After immigrating to the United States, a mentor, Ms. Ross, inspired her to dedicate her career to expanding opportunities for students facing systemic barriers.

Yaimara spent nine years teaching in low-income communities before moving into leadership roles, including Assistant Principal at Gestalt Community Schools, Principal in Residence at IDEA Public Schools, where she co-led two campuses to A ratings with all distinctions, and Founding Principal at BRICK Buffalo Academy. In these roles, she built rigorous academic systems, coached teachers to use data effectively, and cultivated school cultures grounded in equity and accountability.

Most recently, as Director of Expansion at REACH Academy, she guided the growth of the charter network and strengthened operational readiness. Today, as Executive Director of Citizens of the World Las Vegas, Mrs. Wheaton is honored to lead the launch of a school centered on community, inclusivity, and exceptional academic outcomes.

Brizeyda Lovely brings a strong background in student recruitment, family engagement, and community relationship-building, with a passion for helping prospective families feel welcomed, informed, and supported throughout their educational journey. Through her work in Las Vegas-based education and community-facing roles, she has coordinated outreach efforts, led tours and information sessions, and built meaningful connections with families and community partners.

Her experience in outreach, customer service, teaching, and administrative support has strengthened her ability to connect with diverse communities and create positive, people-centered experiences. Known for her warmth, professionalism, and authentic approach, Brizeyda is committed to building trust through meaningful communication and strong family partnerships.
