Jorge Alvarado
Jorge Alvarado is an education leader with extensive experience in K-12 systems. Currently Director of Engagement (West) at Instruction Partners, he cultivates partnerships with system leaders to design customized educational solutions that improve student outcomes. Jorge has held roles including Account Solutions Manager at Great Minds, Account Executive at Listenwise, and Director of Centered on Student Excellence at Teach for America. His expertise spans strategic sales, curriculum alignment, professional development leadership, and data-driven program improvement.
Jorge holds two Master of Education degrees: Public School Building Leadership from Columbia University Teachers College (2022) and Curriculum and Instruction in Secondary Mathematics Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2017). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University with a biomechanical concentration. His work emphasizes relationship-building, access to quality education, and supporting educators through coaching and data analysis to enhance instructional impact.
Dr. Cameron Coleman
Board Secretary
Dr. Cameron L. Coleman is an Assistant Professor in Residence at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in the Department of Teaching and Learning. With nearly two decades of experience teaching middle school math across public, charter, and independent K-8 schools, she has held influential roles such as mentor teacher, curriculum lead, and Diversity Council Chair. Her doctoral research at Loyola Marymount University examined the impact of educational media on children and families, exploring strategies that strengthen student engagement and achievement.
At UNLV, Cameron teaches courses in elementary and secondary education, preparing future educators to deliver high-quality instruction and build strong classroom practices. She is the Principal Investigator of the Ready to Learn Initiative with Vegas PBS, a program focused on enhancing educational media resources for students and families. Additionally, Cameron serves on the founding board of Citizens of the World Charter Schools – Las Vegas, supporting efforts to expand access to innovative, high-quality education. Through her teaching, research, and leadership, Cameron contributes to developing strong instructional practices and effective learning environments for all students.
Kate V. Crist
Kate V. Crist is a nationally recognized literacy leader with over two decades of experience in public education. As the Founder and Director of Education 4500 since 2015, she partners with teachers and school leaders to scale effective secondary literacy instruction through professional learning grounded in inquiry cycles and evidence-based strategies. Kate provides strategic coaching to educational organizations, helping them articulate literacy goals, build expertise, and implement high-quality instructional materials via multi-phase approaches. She has collaborated with numerous partners, including the US Department of Education.
Previously, Kate served as Senior Literacy Designer at Student Achievement Partners, leading the development of literacy tools and facilitating professional learning aligned to college and career readiness. Her earlier career highlights include implementing instructional coaching and literacy initiatives for Washoe County School District and teaching history-social studies in California. Kate holds a BA in Modern World History from UC Santa Cruz and a Masters in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. She is also skilled in executive coaching and professional development, integrating innovative strategies into literacy design.
Frank Flores
Board Chair
Frank Flores is a highly experienced aerospace leader with over 40 years in managing large engineering teams that work on important defense and aerospace projects. At Northrop Grumman, he has held several vice president positions, overseeing engineering for major programs like the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (a stealth military jet), B-2 Bomber (a strategic bomber), Global Hawk (a high-altitude surveillance drone), and E-2D Advanced Hawkeye (an early warning and control aircraft). He managed a diverse team of up to 8,000 people and handled large budgets while improving organizational processes following industry standards.
Frank has advanced technical degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and has completed executive programs focused on leadership and business. He is recognized for his efforts to grow the technical workforce through partnerships with universities and STEM initiatives, hiring over 1,500 interns and graduates in one year alone. Frank’s achievements have earned him prestigious awards in the Hispanic community, and he actively mentors future engineers while enjoying recreational boating and fishing.
Jason Moultrie
Jason Moultrie is a business and community leader based in Henderson, NV, with over 15 years of expertise in organizational leadership, financial management, and stakeholder engagement. He currently serves as Chief Commercial Officer at Sky Vista, where he leads strategic growth initiatives, marketing, and partnership development to drive organizational performance. Jason’s background includes roles as an Associate Agent and Business Performance Advisor, providing financial planning and business operations guidance. Earlier, he gained extensive experience leading teams and managing portfolios in the financial services and automotive sectors.
He is active in local business and networking organizations such as the Henderson Chamber of Commerce (Ambassador), Water Street District Business Association (VP of Events), and Pro Business Connections Networking Group (former Secretary). Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Albany State University and is known for his strategic leadership, client relationship management, and commitment to community engagement.
Scott Sommer
Board Treasurer
Scott Sommer is a business development and financial management professional with nearly 40 years of experience in cost control, project management, and strategic planning within the aerospace sector. Most recently, he served as Director of Business Development at Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union, implementing membership growth strategies and leading a nationwide team of business development professionals. Prior to this, Scott managed overhead budgets exceeding $2 billion for Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector, overseeing international accounting, resource allocation, and financial compliance across multiple sites.
He played a key role in integrating budgets and managing cost accounting and disclosure statements. Scott holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Southern California and is skilled in financial systems, strategic investment, and program operations. Recognized for his leadership, he has received multiple President’s Awards for People Leadership and participates in STEM/STEAM community outreach. Bilingual in Spanish, Scott maintains an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
Shanice Stevens
Shanice Stevens is a nonprofit leader based in Henderson, NV, with extensive experience in community engagement, education, and marketing. Currently the Director of Community Engagement at Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, she led the launch of the Junior Achievement Inspiration Center and expanded program reach through corporate and educational partnerships. Shanice has demonstrated success in managing staff, budgets, sponsorships, and large-scale events, contributing to JASN’s position as a top-performing chapter. Her expertise includes digital marketing, communications management, and project coordination.
Prior to her current role, Shanice served as Director of Education for Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada, where she led operations and staff to achieve record student participation and introduced new programs in the local curriculum. She also pioneered virtual learning adaptations during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the region’s first virtual career fair. Shanice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Media Studies from UNLV and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from National University. She is active in community service, serving on boards such as Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Code Switch: Restorative Justice for Girls of Color.
Dr. Brandon Wiley
Board Vice Chair
Dr. Brandon L. Wiley is an educational and organizational leadership coach based in Las Vegas with nearly 30 years of experience. Formerly the Chief Academic Officer at The Alexander Dawson School at Rainbow Mountain, he transitioned in June 2025 to freelance coaching, where he offers personalized leadership coaching, strategic planning workshops, and support networks that promote leader well-being and work-life balance. Dr. Wiley is renowned for his dedication to equity, innovation, and fostering collaborative school communities.
Throughout his career, Dr. Wiley has held influential roles, including Chief Program Officer at PBLWorks, Executive Director at Asia Society’s International Studies Schools Network, and district administrator positions. His expertise lies in project-based learning implementation, organizational change leadership, and educational innovation. He holds a doctorate in Educational and Organizational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and continues to serve as an advisory council member for Challenge Success, supporting schools nationally and internationally in enhancing student and staff well-being.
